The Guimarães Christmas Market is now open to visits

The program for this holiday season "Guimaraes, Christmas City" began on the 1st of December, which has an extensive program until the 8th of January 2023, including free activities, concerts and shopping for Christmas gifts to offer to those we love most .

At the city's Christmas Market, you can enjoy, appreciate and buy a variety of regional decorative, textile, gastronomic products, among others, from artisans and local producers. The Christmas Market is located in the Jardim da Alameda de S. Damaso and has daily activities for kids and adults alike, including puppet theaters under the theme "The Magic of Toys" and concerts by the Guimarães String Quartet and the Guimaraes Music Conservatory.

In addition to these activities in the heart of the city, there will be parallel concerts at the Vila Flor Cultural Center (17th December) and also on the 11th December the Christmas Party for Social Projects in the multipurpose pavilion of Guimarães. On December 13, the "Heritage Run" will also take place at 9 pm, which has a 7km itinerary between the streets and alleys of the center of Guimarães, passing by the Castle, Alberto Sampaio Museum and City Hall. The event does not have any competitive character and is open to the participation of all people.

From the second half of December onwards, Vimaranese and others can attend the Christmas Concerts in various Churches in the City. Between December 18th and 30th, the 5th Guimarães International Guitar Festival will also take place.

Fun for New Year's Eve is guaranteed at Largo da Oliveira and Praça de S. Tiago and at the Arts and Creativity Platform on the night of December 31, with performances by Master Collection and Amazing Mapping Show and Galgo, Throes + The Shine and Xinobi.
